Food and nutrition

At Field House Care Home all food is prepared on-site and we ensure as much as possible is truly home cooked using fresh ingredients. Wherever possible we use specialist local suppliers e.g. for meat, dairy products, eggs and vegetables rather than large commercial catering organisations.

food melonThere is great variety in our menus, with three hot meals being served every day. For breakfast we offer a wide range of options including full cooked breakfast, or another option of cereals or porridge. For lunch and dinner there are always two main meal options and, in addition, our chefs take into account residents’ preferences, so if a resident does not like any of the options, they will cook an alternative. If they have the ingredients, they will make it, no problem!

You can request tea, coffee or a snack at any time. Fresh fruit is always available in the home, and we welcome suggestions or menu ideas from residents or family and friends.

Our experienced chefs work hard to ensure these homemade meals are healthy and delicious, they also have detailed daily communication with care staff so they take into account individual dietary requirements, like the need for fortified food or a pureed meal. Our residents are asked seasonally for their favourite meals or ideas and the menus are changed to adapt to these choices.

food apple turnoverAt Field House Care Home, food and drink are not only important for the taste and nutritional values, but the social aspect of gathering, eating, and drinking together also plays a significant part in our residents’ lives. Whether you are a couple, an individual or a small group, you will be able to appreciate our pleasant, welcoming and spacious dining spaces where you can easily get together to chat and relax over meals, drinks or snacks.

Importantly, our residents are welcome to invite their families into the home for afternoon tea or dinner whenever they want at no charge.
